The book of an anniversary
Editorial design, Graphic production
Focus León is an association of non-professional photographers, one of the associations of photographers with the longest history, number of members and ongoing activities in Spain. It develops a purely artistic and cultural non-profit activity. Focus León was founded in 1986 by a group of passionate and pioneering photographers with a thirst to unite their interests and share them with their environment. Some of them are still active today among the more than 200 members of the association.
What was our challenge?
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Focus León wanted to publish a book representative of its association and its members, where all their work, the essence of the association and the idiosyncrasy of so many different points of view united by the same passion could be captured.
As part of the challenge, they told us of their intention to unify all these points of view in this collective project, through a series of three photographs of each partner as a common thread, and in which, in addition, each of them would contribute a text related to the series
What did we do?
We faced this project with enormous enthusiasm, thanks to the promoters’ dedication, professionalism and commitment. One of the key points was to know the objectives they wanted to achieve with the book, and obviously their requirements in terms of date and budget, in order to reach a consensus on the format, quality and quantity of the publication.
We specified the most significant details of the publication and coordinated the reception of all the photographs of the more than seventy members who participated in this singular collective project, which celebrated the great success of their association and their artistic trajectory.
After we had received all the photographs and texts, we organised all the content in order to transfer it to the layout and design. Finally, and in close coordination with the printshop, we prepared the final artwork and made sure that everything was perfect, and, as a result, “Cuando el tiempo se para” was born.
