The University of León is a public university with its main campus in the city of León and an additional campus in Ponferrada. The University of León has 8 faculties, 6 schools and 2 private centers distributed between the campus of Vegazana (León) and Ponferrada; in addition, this offer is complemented by a series of services that make the University of León an excellent option for studying.
What was our challenge?
Like every year, the University of León was planning to hold their Open Days to inform all the high school students who have to decide their future after taking A Levels of all the opportunities and academic offerings that the university has on its two campuses, León and Ponferrada.
In view of the situation of health alarm due to the coronavirus pandemic that the country is going through, it is totally impossible to hold the Open Days events in person, so the University of León has expressed its concern on how to organise this activity and promote the degree courses.
What did we do?
We thought that the Open Days should continue to be held, but taking into account the current scenario, we had to adapt and reinvent them, so we proposed to develop the first Online Open Days of the University of León. Various conferences that would follow the same structure as the face-to-face ones, but online. Through this virtual and live event, university managers were able to hold webinars and online conferences to inform all participants about the opportunities, the academic offerings of the University of León and the admission processes, answering their questions live and providing the necessary proximity, dynamics and flexibility.
Users had to register by following a few simple steps in order to access a virtual classroom where they would first participate in the conference and then have time to ask questions live to the speaker. When registering, participants could also access different interaction chats where they could talk and ask questions to the heads of the different areas of the University of León.
To announce the dates and the new format of the Online Open Days of the University of León, we proposed and executed a digital marketing campaign. We worked very hard on targeting the audience for this campaign and taking into account the current situation in the country, to choose the most appropriate criteria when segmenting.
